Trouble with DANE and ALEX

As the howls of Dane and Alex faded, I could hear that I was being followed by new wolves. Probably those of the Violet Moon pack. As I was in wolf form and in their territory, I was certain the Alpha news of our arrival. 

Soon I was surrounded by Violet Moon Pack members. Which led me to stop. They shifted and quickly changed into the clothes they had on with them. There were 8 of them. I knew as my shift was forced, I would be required to shift and stand naked in front of them. 

I lowered so Katie could get off my back. A familiar voice came to me. “As you are the little girl we saw two years ago that must make the wolf Fillian Carmella Carnell. I see you got your wolf at last. Good thing we did not kill you that day as you are a special wolf. Our Alpha has instructed us to bring you to him.” It was Michael from our crossing. “I will ask you to shift so we can take you to him.”

“She can’t shift. We are being hunted by Dane and Alex. She left with no clothes.” Katie quipped.

With that, Michael removed his large tee shirt and threw it at me. I shifted and put on the shirt quickly. I held on to Katie’s hand. “Sasha, what should we do?” I asked.

But she wasn’t there anymore. Maybe the rejection and our hurried exit took more out of her than I thought. “Sasha, are you there?” Still no response.

“I would like to speak with Gamma Eric.” I asked Michael. 

“Oh…would you now?” he said with a glimmer of a smile. “I think the Alpha will be interested to hear the first person you requested is Eric.”

I was about to speak again when we were attacked. At first, I thought it was Alex and Dane, but I could sense these were rouges and they kept coming. Ten in total leapt out of the woods and surrounded us. The Violet Moon pack warriors shifted right away. They had begun fighting. 

All I could think about was getting Katie safely out of here, but I didn’t know the direction to safety. I used my powers to control the wind and threw every rogue that came towards us. More and more kept approaching. I couldn’t keep this up. At some point I, will need to fight.

Finally, I went to the warrior closest to me. She was a red wolf and was being beaten by a large grey rogue. As he bit into her arm. I focused on my powers, harnessing the air like I practiced. I threw him off her and into a tree. I then put Katie and her back. “Please take her to safety.” I begged.

The red wolf nodded and took off at a sprint. Katie called out my name, but I couldn't leave all these warriors. It would be OK as long as Katie was safe. I would use my powers and stay in human form.

I knocked two wolves off Michael and so he was able to regain balance. He was a good warrior and had already taken out three rogues. Many of the Violet moon warriors were injured. Some with severe injuries but they were holding their own. I could hear other wolves coming. More rogues and more warriors. It was becoming a bloody scene.

Two rogues turned on me. I pushed one away with air. I cannot fight them with my power anymore. I need Sasha. As one bit into my arm. I yelled, ”Sasha!” 

“I am here. Shift now!”

I shifted into my large wolf and tore out the throat of the rogue. I was soon helping the warrior take down rogue after rogue. There must have been 25 of them lying dead and still they were pouring out of the woods. 

I am not sure we could hang on for much longer without loss. Soon I saw a small brown wolf pinned by two rogues. I ran as fast as I could but wasn’t in time. The rogues killed her. My rage and Sasha’s revenge fueled us. We propelled forward and took down four rogues. 

“Filli,” Sahsa said. “I can’t keep this up. We are getting tired.” 

“I know. It is OK.” I said, accepting my fate. Thinking we may die here.

“No, we will not die. You must use your power to kill all the rogues.”

“I don’t know how.”

“Yes, you do. You did it that day. You lost everything but you did it. You can do it again by just focusing on the rogues.”

“But what if I hurt the warriors?”

“You won’t.” With that I ran to the side, dodging or removing anything in my path. I quickly shifted back into my human form. Seeing this, the rogues turned and started running towards me. I kneeled on the ground. I thought of the rogues and Katie and if I cannot stop them, they may get to her. 

I thought of the air leaving their lungs. I could feel the heat gather in my body. I felt all my power rushing outwards and then it all faded to black.

I awoke in a field of green by a lake. I saw a beautiful woman sitting on a log not too far from me. She looks like my mother. I slowly got up and walked over to the log. The woman turned to me. “Hello Fillian. I am Selene. I know what you must be thinking. I resemble your mother, which I will explain and no, you are not dead.”

“But where are we?” I asked. 

“We are in the in between. You create it to what you wish. That is why I resemble your mother. As the moon goddess, I take many forms. I can shift into whatever I wish just as I guide the moon. I felt you would be most at ease if I looked like your mother.”

“Thank you…I think. Why am I here?”

“You have many paths to take. Your decisions will decide many fates. I gave you Sasha my most powerful daughter, but she cannot always be with you. Your two sides drain each other when fighting for control.”

“My witch powers and my wolf side.”

“Yes, my dear. There may be a time when you will need to choose one, but I think that can be avoided. If you complete the mating process. This process will make Sasha even more powerful to withstand the magic’s drain.”

“How? My mate rejected me.”

“You will be given a second chance mate. You and Dane would have been a marvelous team, bringing Dark Moon pack much success. I may match my wolves, but they still have free will to make decisions. He chose the wrong path. Because of all you have endured, I will give you a second chance mate if you want one. This decision is yours, but let me warn you that without the mating process you will lose Sasha.”

Slowly, I see Sasha walking towards me. Selene reaches down to pet her. “This is why you can’t reach me sometimes. I am very tired. You will have to pick soon.”

“I don't want a second chance mate," I whisper. I also do not want to lose Sasha. She has been a true friend to me since I got her.

“But what if he rejects…” I started saying when everything started to fade. 

“Wait.” I yelled. I have so many more questions. Why do I have magic? Does this magic make me a royal? How will I find my mate? But now it was black again.
