Chapter 9 - The Unwanted Wolf

I jolted awake, my heart racing. I had been stuck in that strange room in my dream for what felt like hours, and it was a weird feeling. I couldn’t figure out how to wake myself up. Then suddenly I was falling, and my eyes opened as my body lunged forward. I felt disoriented and looked around to get my bearings. I was still in Mark’s room, and he was lying next to me.

“Are you okay?” he mumbled from his half awake state.

“I had a weird dream.” I wasn’t sure if it had been a dream exactly. It felt more like I had been transported to another dimension or something. I sat up, knowing I was awake for the day.

Mark slowly moved in response. He was still sleepy, his eyes not fully open yet. The hair on the back of his head was sticking straight up, almost like a bird. I chuckled a little at this. He looked so cute first thing in the morning.
